Journeyman Exam Application

This is form BCC-341 — the Application for Journeyman Electrician Examination and Licensure. Fill it in below, print it, sign it, and mail it with your notarized experience letters and license fee. Your entries save automatically on this device.

Before you mail it — 3 things LARA requires

  1. Notarized experience letters from present and former employers verifying at least 8,000 hours over at least 4 years of electrical work, supervised by a Michigan-licensed journeyman or master electrician. Each letter must include dates employed (mm/dd/yyyy), total hours, the type of electrical work, and the supervising licensee — and the notary must sign and date it or it will be rejected.
  2. License fee: $40.00 — check or money order payable to STATE OF MICHIGAN – BCC. Non-refundable. (The separate PSI exam fee is paid later, when you schedule.)
  3. Your signature and date at the bottom of the form — the state will not process an unsigned application.
